Getting started requires a few steps to ensuring payroll success in Spain. The top priority is becoming familiar with the country’s labour laws and proper registration with the national trade registry, the Registro Mercantil Central (R.M.C.).

We understand that many regulations involving working and pay conditions in Spain are defined by collective bargaining agreements, which are agreed between individual businesses and worker unions, but are often applied to particular divisions in some geographical areas.

The Spanish standard working hours are 40 per week, with no more than 9 hours allowable for every day, and no more than 80 hours of overtime. It can be altered if a collective agreement is in place, and companies must register each employee’s contract with the social security authorities and the national employment services.
